About the Organization

Institute for Educational Leadership’s (IEL) mission is to develop and connect adults and youth leaders who strengthen communities and education systems in pursuit of equity. With an annual budget of $8 million, IEL is seeking an Operations and Events Associate who can support the organization in its continued growth.

Job Description

Position reports to: President

Position salary range: Flat Fee plus Bonus

As a Contract Fundraiser for the annual Community Schools & Family Engagement Conference, you will play a pivotal role in securing essential financial resources to support our annual conference for the Coalition for Community Schools and the Institute for Educational Leadership. We are looking for someone who can start ASAP. Our conference is May 28-31st in Atlanta, GA. This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with a dynamic team, leverage your fundraising expertise, and make a meaningful impact on our organization’s growth and success.

Roles & Responsibilities:

-Sponsorship Strategy: Develop and implement a short-term sponsorship strategy tailored to the corporation’s needs and objectives or name exposure. This includes identifying potential funding sources, using IEL’s sponsorship packet and any other materials needed to hit fundraising targets.

-Prospect Research: Conduct a quick scan of prospective sponsors and gift-in-kind partners and utilizing market analysis to identify potential leads.

-Relationship Building: Serve as the on the ground contact for follow-up and soliciting sponsorship from prospecting to close. Use individual relationships to expedite sponsorships. Engage in strategic networking and outreach to nurture long-term partnerships.

Proposal Development: Communicate with IEL’s communication team to develop any tailored proposals to meet the unique preferences and interests of each prospective high-level sponsor.

Reporting and Analysis: Provide regular reports and analysis on fundraising efforts, opportunities, including progress towards fundraising goals, and recommendations for any staff who needs to be present to secure larger gifts.

Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant legal and ethical guidelines governing fundraising activities.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION  

Qualifications:
-Proven track record of successful fundraising in a corporate or non-profit environment.
-Strong understanding of fundraising principles, techniques, and best practices, particularly sponsorship.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
-Exceptional research and prospecting abilities.
