Appalachian Entrepreneurship Academy

The Appalachian Entrepreneurship Academy (AEA), developed in partnership with the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC), prepared the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders and thinkers. Chosen via a competitive application process, rising high school seniors from across the Appalachian Region were selected to participate in a learning experience designed to cultivate creativity and develop skills essential for entrepreneurial success. As part of the program, AEA students received tech support, materials, and other resources to participate. At completion, students participated in a Pitch Competition and received a formal Certificate of Completion.

AEA Teams Compete in Pitch Contest

12 high school students from across the Appalachian Region participated in a pitch competition as a part of the Appalachian Entrepreneurship Academy. The winning team – Team Refill Vibes – developed a business aimed at reducing single use plastics by making it easier to refill household cleaning liquids and personal products.
