Site Description:

Lawrence Hall has been a part of the Chicago community for over 150 years. The agency has demonstrated sustainability and redefined how our traumatized youth are educated and empowered. During this time, the youth served by our programs have been the most at-risk youth in the community. The youth we serve are victims of violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation; most struggle with emotional and behavior issues that manifest in various ways, including increased involvement with the juvenile justice system. We have an extensive history of working with court-involved youth in all of our five core programs: Residential Treatment, Therapeutic Day School, Foster Care, Transitional/Independent Living, and Project Work. We also collaborate directly with a variety of community organizations to wrap services around these youth. We have working relationships with community health centers, balanced and restorative justice partners, unique therapy providers, employers, juvenile courts, city and state juvenile agencies, faith-based partners and additional supportive community relations. As a provider of state funded services, we are required to maintain all licenses, insurances as well as accreditation through COA, the Council on Accreditation. Lawrence Hall currently employs 224 full time staff, 8 part time staff, 14 interns, 16 contracted personnel thus totaling 262.
