The Minnesota Organization on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (MOFAS) was founded in 1998, with a clear
vision: a world where women do not drink alcohol during pregnancy and individuals living with Fetal
Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) are identified, recognized and valued.

Since its inception, MOFAS has been a hub of hope for individuals and families affected by an FASD.
MOFAS is the statewide organization serving as the leading voice and resource on Fetal Alcohol
Spectrum Disorders (FASD) in Minnesota and on a national level, standing up for the rights of the
FASD community, providing education and training so that FASD is better understood, and creating
awareness so all women know that there is no safe level of alcohol use during pregnancy.
We invite you to browse our site to learn about prenatal alcohol exposure and the work MOFAS is
doing. Share in our vision of celebrating alcohol-free pregnancies. And help us prevent FASD.

Mission: To eliminate disability caused by alcohol consumption during pregnancy and to improve the
quality of life for those living with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) throughout Minnesota.
Vision: A world in which women do not drink alcohol during pregnancy and people living with Fetal
Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) are identified, supported and valued.
