Goodwill Houston has been serving the Greater Houston Area since 1945 and is well recognized in the nation as a premier provider of employment services to disadvantaged residents of the city.  It currently has active partnerships with more than 40 public and private agencies providing services that include employment opportunities, work experience, housing, transportation, child care, health care, substance abuse treatment, food, clothing, and work tools.

Goodwill Houston has a $112 million per year budget and manages over $12 million in federal, state, and local grant funding.  Recognizing the agency’s success in grant administration, federal project officers have requested GWH to provide informal technical assistance to new grantees seeking a model for administrative best practices.

Due to its prior Civic Justice Corps, Face Forward, Right Turn, and Life Launch programs, Goodwill Houston is well connected with the state and county justice agencies.  GWH’s staff has cultivated relationships with key players including parole and probation officers.  They also have a working agreement with The Beacon which provides critical expungement services to young adults in the Right Turn program.
