April 2, 2025 (Washington, D.C.) — The Institute for Educational Leadership (IEL) is honored to share that Dr. Jane Quinn, an esteemed social and youth worker with over five decades of experience, has joined IEL as a Senior Fellow to support our work with Full-Service Community Schools grantees. Jane will work with IEL’s regional director, Dr. Ryan Hurley, to build capacity to both grow and sustain Full-Service Community Schools across the country. Serving most recently as Vice President for Community Schools at Children’s Aid for almost two decades, Jane directed the National Center for Community Schools and brings key relationships with partner organizations in our Coalition for Community Schools to her role at IEL.
As an expert in the field, Jane’s vast knowledge and familiarity with direct service to children and families will also help IEL move the needle in advancing the impact of Community Schools in communities across the country, with a particular focus on Full-Service Community School grantees.
“The State Scaling grantees within the U.S. Department of Education’s Full-Service Community Schools program represent the cutting edge of the Community Schools field nationally,” shares Jane. “I am honored to have an opportunity to work with them and the IEL team as they pursue a variety of well-designed strategies to effect statewide adoption of this comprehensive, integrated approach to school improvement.”
IEL President Eddie Koen added, “Jane has been an important partner of IEL for many years now, and her leadership in the Community Schools field is invaluable. Having authored three books on this strategy and the stories of real students and their families who have benefitted from Community School outcomes, she is one of the giants in the field. Her support will greatly benefit our work and the Community Schools field.”
