For 17 years, IEL led the National Collaborative on Workforce and Disability for Youth, which was funded by the Office of Disability Employment Policy in the U.S. Department of Labor. A foundational publication of this Center was the Guideposts for Success. The Guideposts reflect research and practice in support of youth with and without disabilities in their development to succeed in school, work, and civic participation.
The Guideposts for Success include 1) school-based preparatory experiences, 2) career preparation and work-based learning experiences, 3) youth development and leadership, 4) connecting activities, and 5) family engagement. Download the Guideposts for Success and learn how you can support youth with and without disabilities to develop these competencies.
