Dr. Keenan King

Dr. Keenan King serves as the Executive Director of the Kent School Services Network (KSSN), a place-based community school initiative in Grand Rapids, Michigan. KSSN is a non-profit organization partnering with 46 schools across six districts in Kent County, supporting over 20,000 students annually through the implementation of the Community School Strategy. Since assuming this role in 2022, Dr. King has successfully expanded the organization’s capacity, reach, and impact.

With over 17 years of experience in the educational and non-profit sectors, Dr. King has dedicated his career to collective impact and college access initiatives. Beyond his professional commitments, he mentors Ph.D. students, former Upward Bound participants, and people of color whose aspirations align with his own. Dr. King firmly believes that serving others is the ultimate expression of a labor of love.

A husband and father of two, Dr. King resides in West Michigan. He holds a doctorate in educational leadership, a master’s degree in educational leadership, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration, all from Western Michigan University.
