“RAMP had the privilege of taking two youth to Washington DC to speak at the IEL RAMP conference in 2023. Both youth were not very excited about public speaking. In the past, both youth have had a hard time speaking in public due to their disabilities and nervousness. Both youth were excited to travel and explore what DC had to offer. The two youth engaged with a bunch of new youth and IEL staff, created life-long memories with their families and RAMP staff and at the end of the conference, the youth presented a poster during a gallery walk that highlighted their years in RAMP and what they have accomplished. Both youth talked about what their favorite parts of the trip to the audience and answered audience questions.”
