IEL's community schools work was highlighted at this year's International Congress for School Effectiveness and Improvement in Ottawa, Canada. The event focused on collaborative partnership.
Last year, 45 education leaders visited historic sites from the civil rights movement throughout Mississippi and Alabama and learned lessons from past and current leaders.
This spirit of shared learning and best practices was reflected in IEL’s gathering of over 80 leaders from 27 districts and 17 state departments of education to discuss family and community engagement.
On October 24, IEL will convene Learning Lab in Washington, D.C. on Family & Community Engagement at 9:00 a.m. EST. The U.S. Department of Education will live stream the event online.
