From July 19-23, IEL and East Carolina University are co-hosting the inaugural Summer Leadership Learning Exchange, an intensive four-day leadership institute. The event's theme is "Breathe Joy & Justice into School and Community Leadership."
The Summer Leadership Learning Exchange will provide an intense professional learning experience using diverse learning platforms and rich leadership support approaches. The institute draws on the latest research on achieving collective impact for equitable and excellent schools. The event focuses on effective professional learning and key leadership lessons from practice, participants achieve customized outcomes.
Participants will be invited to engage in reflection, dialogue, and action; work from a community-based and -centered perspective; learn transferable strategies to engage in conversations about race, class, and equity; practice cross sector school-community leadership; and partner with national faculty before, during, and after the institute.
The institute is targeted to teams and individuals and will be beneficial for school leaders, teachers, counselors, parent leaders, nonprofit professionals, superintendents, leadership coaches, professional development coordinators, administrators, university partners, school board members, and other education stakeholders.
