USDOL Seeks Family Input on Postsecondary Ed. & Disability

From January 26 to February 6, the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) is hosting an online dialogue on families, disability, and postsecondary success.

From January 26 to February 6, the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) is hosting an online dialogue on families, disability, and postsecondary success. ODEP wants to hear the perspectives offamiliy members of young adults with disabilities enrolled in postsecondary education, including certifiate programs, apprenticeships, and community colleges, and and universities. Through this virtual town hall meeting, participants will be able to share their ideas and insights on ways that postsecondary institutions and other organizations can better assist families of young adults with disabilities support education and employment success.

ODEP will conduct the online dialogue via its web-based platform, ePolicyWorks. The discussion is part of an ongoing ODEP information-gathering series and approach to policymaking that engages citizens and stakeholders in new and innovative ways. The initiative leverages the latest technology to address barriers to employment for people with disabilities and fosters real-time collaboration and communication around key issues.

The following topical discussions will take place in the late afternoon and evening (6-10 EST, 5-9 CST, 4-8 MST, 3-7 PST). ODEP will continue to take comments through February 11 on ALL topics.
