Today IEL opened registration for its second annual Family and Community Engagement (FCE) Conference, scheduled for June 22-24, 2015.

Today IEL opened registration for its second annual Family and Community Engagement (FCE) Conference, scheduled for June 22-24, 2015. This year’s theme, “Shaping Our Future by Leading Together: Families, Schools and Communities,” aligns with IEL’s focus on equipping leaders to better prepare children and youth for college, careers, and citizenship.

IEL’s vision for the 2015 FCE Conference is to support the efficacy of parents, families, educators and other community-based partners to work collaboratively to improve schooling and student achievement, and to co-create communities that are flourishing spaces for lifelong learning and development for all children.

The FCE conference will include four dynamic plenary on four important, interrelated themes: 1) Setting the Stage, 2) The Chicago Story, 3) Family Engagement and Equity, and 4) Taking it to Scale. The event will also feature 70 hands-on workshops to share practices, learn about resources, and network with family and community engagement stakeholders from around the country. Some workshop topics include Early Learning and Literacy; Student Achievement and Schooling; Community Partnerships; Teach Leadership and Professional Development; Systemic Practice and Policy; Inclusive Education; Parent Leadership and Advocacy; and High School, College, and Career Transition.

The 2015 conference promises to be a remarkable event which will highlight evidence-based practices and leadership at all levels, offering ample opportunities to examine how schools and communities around the country are realizing mutual goals and aspirations through productive partnerships. The Conference will offer extended learning opportunities through networking at the local, state and regional levels, team planning, and opportunities for in-depth discussions.

Registration is open now, with Super Early Bird savings available through the end of the calendar year. Early Bird rates will be available January through March 2015, at which point regular registration rates will apply. Register today.
