Project Director, Vocational Rehabilitation Youth Technical Assistance Center (Y-TAC)

Headshot: Wendy QuarlesThrough a partnership with Cornell University’s School of Industrial Labor and Relations, Wendy joined IEL in June of 2017 as the project manager for IEL's Vocational Rehabilitation Youth Technical Assistance Center (Y-TAC). Y-TAC is responsible for providing state vocational rehabilitation (VR) programs and related rehabilitation professionals with technical assistance and training to help more effectively serve youth with disabilities. Wendy works with the Y-TAC team to accomplish these goals through providing general, targeted, and intensive technical assistance using a multi-modal approach that includes a combination of distance delivery and in-person training.

With 31 years of experience working in the human services field and 20 years of experience coordinating, designing and providing staff development and training opportunities, Wendy brings a wealth of knowledge to her new role, particularly relating to project management, vocational rehabilitation, and community rehabilitation. Formerly, Wendy served as the director of the Center for Human Services Education, a division of Heritage Christian Services (HCS) in Rochester, N.Y. There she developed and delivered education and training opportunities for HCS staff as well as partner nonprofit organizations. Prior to this, Wendy was the associate director for Adult Career and Continuing Education Services – Vocational Rehabilitation at the Center for Rehabilitation Synergy housed within the State University of New York at Buffalo. Wendy has also worked closely with the YMCA of Greater Rochester for 36 years, facilitating both adapted and general physical education opportunities.
