Natalie Mayanja joined IEL in 2016. She works on IEL's family and community engagement initiatives, including planning IEL's annual National Family & Community Engagement Conference, which had over 1700 participants in San Francisco in the summer of 2017. Previously, Natalie worked at Envision EMI, where she served in a number of roles, including speaker and congressional affairs coordinator, faculty advisor, and program coordinator for the National Youth Leadership Forum. She was a program assistant in recruitment and alternative certification at the University of Alabama, College of Education and was a field policy and management intern at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Natlalie is an Oklahoma native who moved to Washington, D.C. in 2012. She earned her MPA in public administration from the University of Alabama in 2012 and her BA in international relations from Oral Roberts University in 2008.
Natalie is active in giving back to her community. She is a volunteer at So What Else and is a vounteer Math Instructor at YWCA USA. She has also volunteered as event staff for Bike to the Beach and for Friends of Refugees. She speaks English and German.
