Jamie Ekatomatis serves as the Program Manager for the Education Policy Fellowship Program (EPFP) and Senior Associate for Leadership Programs. In that capacity, Jamie directs IEL’s flagship leadership development program with a strong network of nearly 6,800 alumni and current fellows across the country and coordinates related leadership and policy initiatives. EPFP works as a partnership between IEL and multiple state-based sites.
Prior to joining IEL, Jamie worked for nine years in an outreach and leadership development capacity with several national advocacy and membership organizations dedicated to improving the lives of low-income women and children. Her leadership development experience includes serving as the coordinator of the Progressive Leadership and Advocacy Network (PLAN) at the National Women’s Law Center. PLAN recruits and supports new leaders for low-income women’s advocacy and offers them in-depth training and networking opportunities. Early in her career, she also supported the work of the Emerging Leaders in Child Care and Early Education Program at the Children’s Defense Fund.
Jamie holds a Master of Arts in Education and Human Development in Education Policy Studies from the George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Pennsylvania.
