Sarah McCann took on the role of IEL's national Education Policy Fellowship Program coordinator in October 2016. In this role she provides programmatic, logistical, event management, and communications support for the national Education Policy Fellowship Program (EPFP) and supports other IEL networking functions. She joined IEL as an intern with the Coalition for Community Schools and went on to support the Community Schools National Forum and IEL's National Family and Community Engagement Conference before her current position.
Prior to joining IEL, Sarah volunteered as a teacher and consultant for United Action for Children-Cameroon and worked as a research intern at the Institute for Employment Studies. Before moving to D.C. she lived in Brighton, England, where she volunteered in homelessness prevention as a youth advisor and served as the community engagement officer for her local Ultimate Frisbee club.
Sarah graduated from the University of Sussex with a BA in Geography and Anthropology, and an MA in Social Development focusing on the anthropology of childhood.
