Administrative Program Associate

Lauren joined IEL September 2019 as the Administrative Program Associate, which supports several programs at IEL including EPFP, FPI, WASSC, YTAC and more.

Before joining IEL, Lauren began her journey in non-profit at The Brookings Institution working as the assistant for the VP of Foreign Policy and also with the Director for the Center for Universal Education. Her daily work consisted of communicating with different Global Ambassadors, managing the Vice President’s financial records and coordinating all meetings domestic and internationally. After her experience at Brookings, Lauren continued on to the National Center for Family Philanthropy, as the Executive Coordinator to the President. Some of her duties included serving as the liaison between the organization and the Board of Directors, as well as managing all Board activities (meetings, retreats, etc.), supporting the President’s fundraising activities and supervising NCFP’s consultancy inquiries. 

Lauren received her B.A. in African American Studies – Arts & Literature at California State University of Northridge. She also studied Media and Journalism at CUNY Queens in an exchange program in 2009 – 2010. Lauren is an active writer and blogger, and often works as a freelancer on many creative endeavors outside of IEL.
